God’s power to save and provide is limitless, and this was evident in Semowane cattlepost, Sowa Policing area, where Ms Kelekile Mogwai received life-changing assistance from the Botswana Police Service (BPS). When her life became overwhelmed with challenges, hope fading, God answered her cries through the Women Network of No.15 Policing District. Their routine patrols became a divine point of contact, bringing support directly to her doorstep.

On 14 August 2025, a gathering of residents witnessed the tangible impact of this intervention. Commissioner of Police, Dinah Marathe, emphasized that the BPS values community welfare and integrates social responsibility projects into its operations. She explained that police stations identify needy citizens with support from local social welfare structures, providing assistance that can transform lives.

As part of this initiative, Ms Mogwai was gifted ten goats, a buck, and a kraal, enabling her to start a small stock farming venture. This support allows her to engage in livestock rearing actively, turning her circumstances around and creating opportunities for sustainable livelihood. Commissioner Marathe expressed confidence that the livestock would multiply and benefit Ms Mogwai’s family and community. She urged careful management of the animals as a long-term investment.

The event highlighted that policing extends beyond law enforcement to community upliftment. Commissioner Marathe reinforced the BPS’s commitment to protecting life and property, preventing crime, and fostering strong community partnerships. She noted that Community Policing has contributed to a reduction in serious offences in the Sowa area in 2024, including declines in rape, defilement, assaults, and stock theft. Persistent concerns, however, remain around Gender-Based Violence, youth drug abuse, and misuse of social media.

Ms Mogwai expressed deep gratitude for the BPS’s intervention, describing the support as life-changing. She praised the officers’ compassion and generosity and called on the community to work alongside the police to maintain safety in Sowa.

This initiative underscores how community-focused policing and divine timing can combine to create positive, lasting impact, turning despair into hope and enabling citizens to build secure and productive futures.
