The Création Botswana programme, a groundbreaking initiative designed to celebrate and support creativity, entrepreneurship, and sustainability in Botswana’s fashion and textile industry, is approaching its highly anticipated finale. With a grand prize of P100,000 on the line, the competition promises to spotlight the country’s most innovative fashion minds.

Programme Manager Nature Inger revealed in an interview today that the initiative, which launched in September 2024, will officially conclude on July 16, 2025. The finale will feature a glamorous fashion showcase in Gaborone, where designers will unveil their final collections in front of a select audience of industry leaders, investors, and media.

Inger explained that the programme has not only nurtured creative talent but has also encouraged entrepreneurs to embrace sustainable practices in fashion production. The final event will serve as a platform to elevate designers who combine artistic flair with forward-thinking business ideas.

Backing the initiative are two major sponsors—ABSA Bank Botswana and Lucara Botswana—who have each contributed P50,000 to support the programme. The two most outstanding business pitches presented during the finale will be awarded these funds, helping the winners turn their concepts into viable enterprises.

The Création Botswana programme has been praised for its holistic approach, offering mentorship, business development workshops, and networking opportunities for young creatives throughout its duration. As the countdown to the finale begins, excitement is building within Botswana’s creative community, with many eager to see which fashion visionaries will rise to the top and secure the transformative P100,000 prize.
