A vital door-to-door immunization campaign is underway in Werda and Kokotsha, bringing essential vaccines directly to the homes of those who need them most. Community mobilizers are actively tracking pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers who have missed their tetanus and diphtheria (Td) vaccinations, ensuring no one is left behind.
Children under five are also catching up on their routine immunizations, with healthcare workers administering vaccines on the spot. This proactive approach is aimed at boosting immunity levels in vulnerable groups and preventing the resurgence of preventable diseases.
The campaign is focusing on pregnant women, lactating mothers, healthcare workers, and young children, ensuring each group receives the protection they need. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the initiative, either by receiving vaccinations during home visits or by visiting their nearest health facility.
This lifesaving initiative is a collaborative effort led by the Ministry of Health, Botswana Red Cross Society, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. It is supported by Africa CDC through the Saving Lives and Livelihoods program, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.
Vaccination remains one of the most effective tools to protect individuals and communities from infectious diseases. If you or your child are due for immunization, don’t wait—get vaccinated on the spot or visit your local health facility today.
