Fashion Without Borders Slated For The First Week Of April

The third  annual Fashion Without Borders Botswana is set to take place in Gaboroneon the first week of April.

The event will bring together 25 designers, ranging from new talent to emerging and established names.

The designers will take centre stage to display their interpretation of fashion design in Botswana and the rest of Africa, in an effort to raise awareness about local fashion consumption.

This inspiring day of creativity, ingenuity and self-expression will be headlined by renowned designers, including the likes of Palesa Mokubung of Mantsho fame and Papy Mukalengathe, the creative director and designer of Urban Zulu, who will display some of his latest work.

The stage will also be graced by international headliners such as Sibu Vokda, founder of the well-known Smarteez and FDB human store brand from RSA, Collen Monnakgotla and Godfrey Dlavane of the popular Brand Fresh wear from RSA, Kabaso Nkandu of the Zambian brand Nkanda Yatu and Sithabile Tazibona from Zimbabwe.

For the first time, the experience will include Pop-up stalls, which will run from April 2 – 8 at Avani Resort and Casino.

In all, this fashion and lifestyle movement includes a display of fashion stalls, exhibition and runway show to be enjoyed by the public, with an opportunity to interact with local designers from across Southern Africa.

FWB 2017 saw local designers, Opelo Lesake of Wabi Sabi, Natasha Tlagae of House of Noir and Lesly Mmoloke of Les Wear Xclusives participate in the Mr Price Group mentorship training programme in Durban, South Africa.
