Former Francistown Deputy Mayor Lechedzani Modenga
Trouble entangled former Francistown Deputy Mayor Lechedzani Modenga has died.
His younger brother Lovemore Modenga has told the media that the politician died around 3am yesterday. The brother to the Botswana Democratic Party Councillor for Moselewapula ward could however not get into details of what caused his death.
Modenga has been in trouble withΒ the law several times for several offences of obtaining by false pretences.
Since 2015 Modenga has been making headlines with similar offences something, which allegedly forced his party colleagues to demote him from deputy mayor position.
A few weeks back, all charges against him were withdrawn after the prosecutor said theΒ Β investigating officer has told her that the accused has paid back the money to the people he allegedly defrauded. Modenga was absent when this ruling was made.
Modenga has once revealed that he was suffering from diabetes and maybe that is the cause of his death. His family still has not revealed what happened to him.
