LOC Chair, Professor Martin Nkgwathi, described the donation as a significant milestone, highlighting the historic nature of Botswana’s role as the first African host. He said the support will help the committee meet operational needs and ensure smooth planning for the global competition.

Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) Chair, Mr. Marumo Morule, emphasized the importance of the occasion in the nation’s sporting history. He urged more corporate entities to partner with the LOC to ensure the successful delivery of the event, noting that such support will not only promote sports but also showcase Botswana’s capabilities on the international stage.

Halfway Toyota CEO, Mr. Riaan Grobler, expressed pride in contributing to the event’s success and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sports development. He encouraged other businesses to assist the LOC in any way possible, stressing that collective effort is key to making Botswana’s hosting a global success story.

The World Athletics Relays Gaborone 2026 will attract teams and athletes from around the world, offering Botswana a unique platform to boost its international sporting profile and promote tourism.
