GABORONE, 18th October 2022: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the public that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Dr. Lemogang Kwape, will undertake a Working Visit to India, from 16th to 22nd October 2022, at the invitation of his counterpart, Honourable Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India.
During the Visit, Honourable Dr. Kwape will hold official talks with his counterpart on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest. The two Ministers will also consider progress on areas of cooperation, including in the areas of education, technical assistance, trade and investment.
Further, Honourable Dr. Kwape is expected to meet with officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of India, and tour a Citrus Project.
Botswana and India established diplomatic relations in 1966. Subsequently, in 1987 India established a Diplomatic Mission in Botswana and in 2006, Botswana opened her Mission in India. The two countries enjoy cordial relations and excellent cooperation underpinned by shared values of democracy and mutual respect.
The Honourable Minister will be accompanied by Senior Government officials and will return to Gaborone on 23rd October 2022.
