The Botswana Retired Nurses Society (BORNUS) is a local non-governmental organization that provides transformative HIV/AIDS education, health care and support services as well as income-generating skills to improve the quality of life of the communities they serve.

Applications are invited from proactive self-motivated individuals willing to set up a new library for Botswana Retired Nurses Society (BORNUS) in Tlokweng. ThisΒ is 1 year renewable contract.
Roles and Responsibilities
β’ keeping up to date with newly released publications in order to select library resources;
β’ organising resources in an accessible way;
β’ stock maintenance, including the weeding out of old resources;
β’ anticipating community needs and trends to ensure library services are used as much as possible;
β’ promoting the use of the library through displays, talks and community events, which may involve work in the library or going out into the community;
β’ providing reader, advisory and information services to the public and local businesses;
β’ organising library provision for specific community groups, schools, youth organisations, adult learners and pre-school groups;
β’ developing the use of ICT to improve service delivery;
β’ dealing with enquiries and assisting library users in accessing ICT and other resources;
β’ undertaking reader development activities;
β’ providing services to socially excluded groups;
β’ working with other agencies and bodies, such as museums and educational services, to develop services and initiatives in the community;
β’ Writing reports as requested by the management
Qualification and Experience
β’ At least Certificate in Librarianship and 2 years of relevant experience
β’ Excellent practical knowledge of setting up library and classification of books through database
β’ Attention to details on how to lend out and recover book
β’ Good communication skills
β’ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with different people
β’ Be able to work outside normal working hours
