Minister Moeti Mohwasa Calls for Urgent Action to Support People with Disabilities

Minister for State President, Moeti Mohwasa, has highlighted the critical need to dismantle systems that oppress and marginalize people with disabilities.

Announcing his upcoming keynote address at the High Level Disability Consultative Forum on 4 September 2025, Mohwasa emphasized that accessibility and equality are not privileges but basic human rights. He underlined that societies must remove barriers that prevent full participation for people with disabilities.

The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive policies, stressing that no one should be left behind. He stated that achieving justice requires collective action, transparency, and accountability from all sectors, including government, civil society, and private institutions.

Mohwasa called on stakeholders to implement practical measures that improve access to education, healthcare, employment, and public spaces. He noted that progress depends on consistent monitoring and the active involvement of people with disabilities in decision-making processes.
