Minister Monnakgotla commends Bostwana Red Cross Society volunteer programme

The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Honourable Talita Monnakgotla has commended Botswana Red Cross Society for augmenting Government’s efforts in different areas including COVID-19 response, disaster response, provision of rehabilitation services as well as youth and volunteer programmes.

Officiating at the Volunteer Recognition and Awards ceremony at University of Botswana yesterday (July 5, 2022), Honourable Monnakgotla praised the Organization for its sustained spirit of volunteerism over the years, a practice that Botswana has embraced in times of challenges, calamities and human distress.

The Assistant Minister hailed Botswana Red Cross Society for the recently conducted youth entrepreneurship development training for 38 volunteers at a workshop that connected youth volunteers to established entrepreneurship and business development service providers for mentorship, coaching and talent development.

Hon Monnakgotla applauded the Red Cross Society for continued support of voluntary work at community level, especially on people with disability, orphans and vulnerable children’s programmes as well as COVID-19 food relief packages.
