Partial Opening Of Game City Intersection

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works informs the public that the Game City Intersection will be partially opened for traffic under bridge underpass from Friday 7th October 2022 at 0900hrs. Traffic flow at the intersection will be controlled by temporary traffic lights.

Movement of traffic on A1-Western Bypass/ (New Lobatse road) will be as follows;

1. Traffic travelling straight on the new Lobatse road (from either north or south) will stay in the two inner lanes and wait for a green light before proceeding. (Refer to attached layout sketch)

2. Traffic turning right will move to the right lane and then proceed according to the signals;

3. Traffic wishing to turn left will stay in the left lane and enter the slip road left and then merge into the Western Bypass/Kgobaseretse Road.

For (traffic travelling through the Western bypass towards Game City Intersection from both directions

1. Traffic wanting to slip off left will follow the left slip road and proceed as before;

2. Traffic travelling straight through will continue straight as before but will pass through and be controlled by the temporary signalized intersection. Traffic should stay in the inner lane.

3. Traffic wishing to turn right (to New Lobatse Road) will move into the right lane to wait for the green light before proceeding in the lane (dashed white line) under the bridge and into New Lobatse Road.

This development is meant to facilitate the completion of the bridge ramps and centre medians on the Western Bypass. The Ministry wishes to thank the public for its continued support and patience as construction continues in Greater Gaborone.
