Rugby team gets a heavy beating

Local men rugby 7’s national team, ‘The Vultures’ was this past weekend given a whipping of the year at the just ended Rugby Africa 7’s championships. The team suffered early defeats from top seeds Kenya in pool A and Morocco. The Vultures returns home today (Wednesday) with no score under their belt at pool stages having been walloped 49 nil by Kenya and 24 to nil by Morocco respectively.

The team competing at the African grade A tournament was hoping to make a better finish at the games. The games were also used as pre-requisite games to a qualification ticket to the Olympic Qualifiers. Vultures have since finished 11th of the 12 teams that were competing at the Monastir, Tunisia held championships.
