Singer and songwriter Samantha Mogwe is now a radio personality and has a show on Gabz FM. She has told the media that she responded to the station’s advert last year when they wanted presenters and fortunately for her she got the job and she has been on training for the past two months.
She hosts a show called The Night Drive that discusses among others, policy issues and issues people deal with on a daily basis like education and social issues such as marriage. the show also has a segment where musicians are profiled and perform and also get a chance to interact with their followers.
The Transition hitmaker said she was encouraged by her sister and husband to take up this opportunity.
Samantha first rose to fame when she became the 2nd runner up for My African Dream Junior singing category in 2003. She then became winner of the Gabz Karaoke Idols in 2004 as the youngest contestant and made it into the top 24 of African Idols as the only representative from Botswana. She has also featured on songs with local artists such as Andreattah Chuma, Beat Premiers, Groove Cartell and Lister Bolesang, to mention a few.
