TEMPORARY POSITIONS

The Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration invites suitable qualified individuals who are result orientated to fill the following temporary positions tenable at Office of the District Commissioners across the country on a six (6) months contract:

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 15 OF 2017
REF NO: OP 7/72/10 XIII (37)
ASSISTANT STATISTICIAN

SALARY SCALE: C3 (P92, 808 – 108,732 per annum)

LEAVE:25 working days per annum

QUALIFICATION:Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist District Commissioners in the collection and analysis of data generated from implementation of Government Programmes and Projects.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

β€’ Implement numerical data gathering
β€’ Applying statistical methodology for data collection
β€’ Assessing results
β€’ Analyse trends and make predictions.
β€’ Conduct surveys
β€’ Produce monthly reports
β€’ Assist in sourcing information

ASSISTANT ECONOMIST

SALARY SCALE: C3 (P92, 808-108,732 per annum)
LEAVE: 25 working days per annum

QUALIFICATION:Bachelor’s Degree in Economics

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist in the implementation and evaluation of Government Programmes and Projects

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

β€’ Continuously assess the viability of different Poverty
Eradication initiatives and advise the principals accordingly.
β€’Assessment of Poverty Eradication applications.
β€’Fast-track packaging of beneficiaries.
β€’Monitor packaged projects and report back on issues that need urgent attention.
β€’Conduct surveys and collect data on poverty eradication initiatives.
β€’Prepare monthly reports for District Commissioners’ submission to Headquarters.
β€’Attend to beneficiary complaints, advise and refer accordingly.
β€’Assist in the procurement processes.
β€’Follow-up payment of suppliers.
β€’Provide administrative work such as preparing for meetings, minutes taking and supporting the office.

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. (17) OF 2017
REF NO: OP 7/72/10 XII (39)
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) OFFICER

SALARY SCALE: C3 (P92, 808-108,732 per annum)
LEAVE: 25 working days per annum

QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology with emphasis on Programming and Database Management.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Maintenance and support of Government systems/ database at district level.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

β€’Assist in the day-to-day technical support of applications and systems used in the office.
β€’Data validation and consolidation
β€’Backup system and user data
β€’Attending to faults with assistance of senior staff where required.
β€’Trouble shooting network problems
β€’Assists in managing Active Directory server.
The tasks involved include:
οƒΌManagement of the database systems
οƒΌConfiguring mail accounts officers and supporting the roll out of new applications
οƒΌSetting up new users accounts and profiles and Creating mailing groups for different users
οƒΌResetting forgotten passwords for users
οƒΌAssist staff to set systems or resolve issues.
β€’Attend to any other assignments as may be given by superiors
