The First Lady of the Republic of Botswana Her Excellency Mrs Neo Jane Masisi expressed delight at the opportunity to interact with female Heads of Missions and Ambassadors
On the 11th of April in Gaborone. This was a first ever meet and greet for the Ambassodors as a collective with the First Lady.

The purpose of the engagement was for the Heads of Missions to appreciate the mandate of the Office of the First Lady, exchange knowledge with the First lady, have discussions on prospects of interest areas with the view to collaborate with Office of the First Lady and how to support her.

Her Excellency highlighted that the implementation of engagements of the office of the First Lady is guided at a national level by the Advocacy interest areas, vision 2036 and Sustainable Development Goals. She highlighted that the Office of the First Lady requires support from the Heads of Missions on several issues surrounding women, economic and social empowerment.

On behalf of the Heads of Missions, Her Excellency Ambassador Ms Athalia Molokomme expressed immense and deepest gratitude at the gesture of the First Lady having found time to interact with them. Her Excellency Ms Molokomme stated that Ambassadors and High Commissioners consider their appointments as a privilege and honour to serve the Republic of Botswana.
