Township Rollers To Face Yanga Tomorrow At 1530 Hours

Champions Townsip Rollers will tommorow face Tanzanian club Yanga atΒ he National Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The game will broadcast live from 1530 0n BTV.

Rollers progressed into the second round of this tournament following their 4-2 aggregate success against Sudan’s El Merrekh. In their first leg at home they won by 3-0, before receiving 2-1 defeat in the returning leg at Khartoum.

Yanga advanced after beating Seychelles’s St Louis by 2-1 aggregate, they won by 1-0 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam and then drew 1-1 at Seychelles.

Last season Yanga crushed out on the away goal by Zambian Zesco United in the second round of the tournament, on the first leg the Yanga drew 1-1 at home, in the returning leg the results were 0-0, Zesco advanced through an away goal.

Meanwhile, in the same round Rollers who played against Madagascar’s CNaPS Sport failed to progress through an away goal too. In their first leg away from home they were beaten by 2-1, although they had a home victory of 3-2 in the returning leg but it proved not enough.

the last time Yanga was defeated at home in the international tournament was in June 29, 2016 where they played TP Mazembe of DRC Congo. That was in group stages of CAF Confederation Cup.

Mainly Yanga use Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium as their home ground.

Rollers were last beaten at their home by Kaizer Chief of Republic of South Africa in February 28, 2015.Mainly they use the Botswana National Stadium and University of Botswana Stadium as their home ground.

Rollers lead the table of 16 teams, they have 43 points three clear from Galax in the second position after 19 games. In their last five matches they won three, defeated once and have a draw. They scored 36 goals and conceded 19.

Yanga sit second on the table six points adrift to leaders Simba SC, currently they are in good form winning all of their last five game.
