Purpose of the Job
To manage the execution of an assigned project(s) ensuring health and safety compliance, overseeing site management, monitoring of programme development and material management and ensuring that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities And Site Management Essential Activities
Key Responsibilities
β’ Ensure legal and system compliance
β’ Lead fatality prevention programme
β’ Ensure HSE hazards and risks are identified and appropriate actions are taken to eliminate, prevent or manage to acceptable levels
β’ Ensure that safe HSE working practice are deve3loped and implemented
β’ Ensure employees are issued with, trained to use and use the appropriate PPE
β’ Oversee the reporting and investigation of HSE incidents/accidents in accordance with the HSE system
β’ Ensure actions are implemented to prevent, control and manage pollution
Site Management Essential Activities
β’ Understand the scope of work in terms of what is to be executed and where the battery limits stop
β’ Liaise with Client/subcontractors on site and resolve problems
β’ Monitor subcontractor progress against schedule/plan on site and take timeous corrective action
β’ Ensure the monitoring of HSE and Quality issues related to subcontractor work and takes timeous corrective action
β’ Monitors financial performance of all subordinates
β’ Organise and coordinate people and resources to achieve targets
β’ Ensure that subordinates have the proper tools, equipment and materials
β’ Implement all company policies and procedures in the execution of delegated responsibilities and authority
β’ Ensure site establishment
β’ Oversee HR, AQ/AC, Administration, and HSE and materials management
β’ Ensure project executed without fatalities
β’ Ensure project completed within budget
β’ Ensure project is delivered on schedule
Qualification and Experience
A recognised Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 15 yearsβ experience in the Structural, Mechanical, Platework and Piping Construction Environment.
