Zebras Players To Boycott SA Trip Over Unpaid Allowances
Botswana Senior national team players have informed the BFA leadership that they will not travel to South Africa for Cosafa Cup due to outstanding payments
The players are owed money as far as from 2014 (monthly government allowances) and other allowances. The players were promised that outstanding payments will be sorted during their game against Mauritania in Francistown but to no avail
Sources say that there has been an instruction from BFA management that those players who want to go and play without payments should write their names and those who don’t wish to do so should indicate. The players have all agreed to refuse to travel to South Africa until they are paid.
The players are currently at Lekidi for a meeting with BFA.
The squad is supposed to leave for Rustenberg today where they are supposed to face Zambia on Saturday at Royal Bafokeng Stadium for the COSAFA cup.
