Zimbabwean couple and cycling enthusiasts, Thando Tshuma Vlogs and her fiancé Vusumuzi MC Official, have embarked on a remarkable transcontinental journey from Zimbabwe to Nigeria under the powerful theme: “Cycling for Sustainable Ecosystems and the Beauty of Africa.” Their bold expedition is not just a test of endurance, but also a heartfelt tribute to Africa’s natural beauty, biodiversity, and rich cultural heritage.

Their journey into Botswana began at the Kazungula border, where they were welcomed by the lush landscapes of Kasane, one of Southern Africa’s most prized gateways to wildlife and conservation. From there, the duo pedaled through the serene wilderness of Nata and continued onward into Francistown—Botswana’s second-largest city, known for its vibrant mix of history, commerce, and cultural charm.

Currently stationed in Francistown, Thando and Vusumuzi are immersing themselves in the city’s heartbeat. They’ve been sampling traditional cuisine, capturing its colonial-era architecture, and experiencing the warm hospitality of the local community. Their vlogs and digital content are painting a picture of Botswana that goes far beyond the safari lens, showcasing the everyday beauty and kindness that define the nation.

As part of their commitment to promoting sustainable ecosystems, the couple is using their journey to raise awareness about environmental conservation, climate change, and the importance of preserving Africa’s ecological treasures. Through every captured moment—from untouched savannas to bustling cityscapes—they’re telling a story of a continent that’s as diverse as it is resilient.

The next leg of their journey resumes on Monday, July 28th, when they will take the scenic A1 highway toward Gaborone. There, they plan to connect with locals, explore the capital’s urban vibrancy, and highlight its blend of modern living and cultural identity. From Gaborone, the cyclists will exit Botswana through the Mamuno border, carrying with them lasting memories of a nation rich in nature, unity, and generosity.

In support of such eco-conscious and culturally enriching efforts, Hon. Wynter Mmolotsi shared that the Ministry of Environment and Tourism is preparing to launch “city tourism” initiatives aimed at showcasing the full spectrum of Botswana’s urban attractions. These include museums, monuments, botanical gardens, game reserves, and other landmarks that offer both residents and international tourists a deeper appreciation of the country’s cities.

Thando and Vusumuzi’s journey continues to inspire a wave of pan-African unity, environmental awareness, and a renewed celebration of Africa’s hidden gems—one pedal at a time.
