“Masisi a dishonest, deceptive and manipulative President”- UDC

The Opposition coalition, the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) has disapproved His Excellency the President Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi as a dishonest, deceptive, and manipulative head of state.

UDC is of the view that President Masisi has made it a norm to lie habitually. Not only is he hypocritical and deceptive, according to the UDC, he is also corrupt.

“His has been a hypocritical and deceptive leadership. He also just talks and never delivers on his promises. Recently in a kgotla meetng he insulted old people saying ba ne ba ipetola [they were nagging] in their asking for gifts in a kgotla meeting. Hardly a week after he donated food gifts in Selebi Phikwe, Serowe and Rakops. He is going around donating goats, blankets to endear himself to the poor, exploiting their being in abject poverty. This is admission of failures of policies of his Government as they failed to economically empower Batswana. Foreigners are enjoying the Fruits of the economy of this country through improperly awarded tenders, while Masisi is busy distributing blankets and diphoko to Batswana. His is a captured Government.” the UDC charged.

The UDC further reminds the nation how the President said he is a booticker on national televsion, and few years later on the same platform denied ever saying that. According to the UDC, Masisi has now made a trade mark of a dishonest, deceptive and manipulative President who says everything just to get his way knowing very well that he is not telling the truth.

“It is high time Batswana wise up, and show Masisi that enough is enough with his deceptive trickery. He promised jobs, but most Batswana particularly the young and women remain unemployed and suffer from poverty. He promised workers the Bargaining Council but nothing is happening. In realizing that he has failed on his promises, he has now turned state machinery on his political opponents to divert attention.” the UDC suggested.
