Vacancy- Statistician General At Statistics Botswana

Statistics Botswana is a parastatal organization whose primary mandate is to collect and disseminate all official statistics in Botswana. This position being recruited for will play a significant role in driving its strategic objectives.

You will be at the apex of your career, as you utilize your wealth of experience and significant professional exposure in a similar role. Reporting to the Board of Directors, your key responsibilities will include: Strategy formulation; ensure availability of socio, economic, financial and environmental statistics; advising the Board; stakeholder engagement; coordination and management of National Statistical System; development of harmonized methodologies, system development and database management;; adherence to confidentiality and regulatory compliance; operational and financial performance and organizational growth and development.

You will be qualified, at least, to Masters’ level in Statistics, Economics, Demography or related fields from a recognized institution. Your academic background is supported by a minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience in an organization offering statistical services, research, policy development, monitoring and evaluation. Experience in overseeing successful and timely implementation of national projects/censuses or household surveys/research projects. Knowledge of Information Technology or Geographical Information system is essential. An excellent remuneration package is available for the right candidate.
