BOTSWANA ZIMBABWE TO EXPLORE NEW AREAS OF COOPERATION

The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Clifford Maribe says Botswana and Zimbabwe will explore new areas of cooperation with a view to further widening and deepening the scope of bilateral relations.

When officially opening the 4th Session of the Bi-National Commission of Senior Officials between Botswana and Zimbabwe today in Maun, Ambassador Maribe said it was evident from past Bi-National Commissions that the two countries continue to experience constant growth in bilateral relations, which to date, cover a wide range of issues.

He stated that the Bi-National Commission demonstrates the commitment and resolve by the two leaders to strengthen and widen the scope of bilateral cooperation between the countries, for the mutual benefit of both countries and people.

He further mentioned that, there are abundant opportunities that remain untapped in the economic diplomacy area, particularly with regard to trade and investment opportunities hence a Business Forum will be convened.

The 4th Bi-National Commission Session will be preceded by a Ministerial segment and conclude with the Summit of Heads of State.
