The Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) has officially announced the Chobe Connect 2026 Conference, scheduled for March 30–31, 2026, at Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa. The event is designed to highlight investment potential in the Chobe District and position the area as a key economic driver in Botswana and the Southern African region. Acting CEO Tapiwa Masie noted that the conference will provide a platform for investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to engage directly on growth opportunities. A major focus will be the Pandamatenga Economic Zone, recognized as a critical area for agribusiness expansion and innovation. Organizers intend for the conference to serve as a catalyst for both local and foreign investment, driving economic diversification and industrial development.

The two-day programme will examine sectors with high growth potential and value chain opportunities. Speakers will highlight initiatives that support food security, industrial expansion, and sustainable agriculture. Delegates will have the opportunity to explore how investments in modern farming technologies can enhance productivity and profitability in the region. SEZA emphasises that this approach will not only transform the Chobe District but will also contribute to national economic development. By connecting investors with opportunities, the conference aims to stimulate partnerships that align with Botswana’s broader economic diversification strategy.

Acting CEO Tapiwa Masie encouraged participants to introduce innovative agricultural technologies to the region. She specifically called for advanced irrigation solutions, precision farming systems, and other smart agriculture initiatives that can boost yields and efficiency. These innovations are expected to modernize operations within the Pandamatenga Economic Zone, positioning the district as a model for sustainable agribusiness. Masie highlighted that technology-driven solutions will be key to attracting investors while addressing food security challenges and ensuring long-term economic sustainability.

Chobe Connect 2026 will also provide a platform for dialogue between the private sector, government representatives, and development partners. Attendees will discuss investment incentives, infrastructure support, and regulatory frameworks designed to ease business operations. The conference will facilitate networking and collaboration to encourage joint ventures and innovative solutions tailored to local conditions. Panel sessions and roundtable discussions will allow stakeholders to explore emerging opportunities in agribusiness, tourism, and industrial development. This interactive environment is expected to generate actionable strategies that can be implemented beyond the conference.

The event is supported by FNB Botswana, Gabz FM, and Business Weekly, providing media coverage and promotional support to attract a wide array of participants. By convening investors, government agencies, and industry leaders in one setting, Chobe Connect 2026 aims to create a clear roadmap for the district’s economic growth. The conference underscores Botswana’s commitment to regional economic integration, innovation, and sustainable development. Ultimately, Chobe Connect 2026 is poised to strengthen the Chobe District’s reputation as a vibrant investment destination while fostering partnerships that drive long-term prosperity for the nation.
