Delegation pays a courtesy call on Minister Mohale

In a quest to promote alternative technologies, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Honourable Eric Mothibi Molale earlier today received a delegation from a Chinese Company, Poly Technologies INC at the Ministry Headquarters with a view of exploring possible investment opportunity in the area of construction.

Honourable Minister Molale noted that government is looking for new technologies as well as citizen participation through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. He implored the company to support local companies by focusing on local materials through value chain development priority.

β€œShould we engage you in the future, we want to see favorable terms, we want to see you working with citizens in these projects. We want to see a win-win situation where transparency is key” he said.

In an effort to sustainably improve the lives of all Batswana and address the high costs of construction materials, Government is committed to explore less expensive but high quality solutions just like the Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) initiative, Kgalagadi Sand Building Block (KSBB).

For his part Poly Technologies, INC Board Chairman, Mr WANG Xingye revealed that the engineering company which is 100% owned by Government of China is looking for investment and construction opportunity in Botswana adding that they have abundance financial resource.
Honourable Minister further stressed that normal government procedure will be followed and called for further engagements
