A wave of excitement swept through Kgalemang Motsete Junior Secondary School yesterday morning as teachers, non-teaching staff, and students celebrated their star, Miss Vivian Wangu Keatlholetswe. The 13-year-old Form 1 student recently won the Miss Preteen Hope International 2025/26 pageant held in Cape Town, South Africa.

The pageant, held from 25–29 November 2025, featured 11 contestants from across the globe. Vivian stood out, impressing judges with her dedication to community service, which formed a major part of the competition. She revealed that 70% of the pageant’s evaluation was based on community involvement.

Vivian’s project, “A Child, a Flower,” focused on donating stationery to underprivileged children in Serowe to support their education. Her initiative demonstrated creativity, empathy, and practical impact, earning her high marks and ultimately the crown.

In her remarks, Vivian dedicated her victory to God and expressed gratitude to her family, teachers, schoolmates, and Batswana who supported her throughout her journey. She emphasized that the achievement was not hers alone but a shared success with the community that encouraged her every step of the way.

Looking forward, Vivian plans to register “A Child, a Flower” as an official organisation within the next five years. This will allow the initiative to continue uplifting underprivileged children across Botswana, expanding its reach and long-term impact.

Vivian’s success highlights the power of discipline, hard work, and community support. Her achievement serves as an inspiration to young people, showing that dedication and a positive attitude can transform dreams into reality.
