Khurumela Primary School in the Palapye Sub-region held its annual prize-giving ceremony yesterday to recognise learners’ academic achievements. The event, themed “Celebrating the Stars of Tomorrow: Igniting Innovation, Empowering the Future,” brought together parents, teachers, learners, community members, and representatives from local businesses.
The ceremony received strong financial support. Bothakga Burrow Botswana, an engineering consultancy firm, donated P40,000.00. The school’s Parent-Teacher Association added P30,000.00 to cover event preparations. These contributions ensured a smooth program and highlighted the importance of community involvement in education.
Awards were presented across multiple categories. Learners were recognised for Best in 2024 PSLE, PSLE A’s, Most Improved PSLE Tutoring Student, PSLE B’s, and Overall Best in Stream. Teachers received awards for Best PSLE Teacher, while classes were recognised for Overall Best Class and Most Improved Tutoring Programme. Individual students also earned accolades as Most Improved Student.
The event celebrated both academic excellence and growth. Students expressed pride in their achievements, while teachers emphasised the role of hard work and dedication. Parents applauded the efforts of their children and the school’s commitment to quality education.
The ceremony reinforced the value of collaboration between schools, families, and local businesses. Sponsorship and community support provided the resources to recognise achievement and motivate continued success. Khurumela Primary School highlighted its role in shaping learners’ futures and inspiring excellence across the region.
The event closed with encouragement for learners to maintain their efforts and embrace innovation. The school reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing talent, celebrating achievement, and empowering students for long-term success.
