Following a very successful music awards event in Botswana last year, Yarona FM will once again this year host the second running of the Yarona FM Music Awards in celebration of local talent, on the 12th of December.
The Gaborone based radio station, which is known for always supporting local talent has nurtured young Botswana artists since 1999. In its 16 years of broadcasting, the station has dedicated itself to developing local talent and has played a major role in the development of the Urban Music and entertainment industries.
Commenting on the upcoming awards, Yarona FM Station Manager David Moepeng said, “The station continues to appreciate growth of those artists that came from nothing and are now big brands in the industry.
Urban music has grown in terms of content and quality which Yarona FM acknowledges and continues to support”.
Probably one of the best events in BW 2014, Yarona FM had its first ever successful Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs) at GICC hosted by Dollar and KingBee. Both the YAMAs and the after party rocked.
The Yarona FM Music Awards seek to recognize, appreciate and celebrate growth of the local music and entertainment industry.
