Three men appeared before Extension II Magistrate Court

Three men appeared before Extension II Magistrate Court (21/07/2022) on three
counts. The trio is a Motswana, Mogomotsi Thupane, aged 39, of Mogoditshane and two
South Africans, Sipho Mathangana and Jabu Shabangu, aged 26, of Thembisa.

According to the charge sheet, the accused parsons allegedly stole a motor vehicle (Theft of
motor vehicle) at or near Mmopane Block 1, Mogoditshane, in the Kweneng District, on the
15% June 2022. The trio also appeared on a single count of Unlawful possession of Arms and
Ammunition. Furthermore, the two South Africans also faced another count of Entering
Botswana through an Ungazetted Point of Entry.

The accused persons were arrested on the 15 July 2022 near River-walk shopping mall,
Gaborone and were found in possession of an AK47 rifle, three pistols and ammunition.
They have been remanded in prison and will appear again on 04/08/2022.
