Overview of role
To provide financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data and preparing reports as well as co-ordinating and controlling the application of accounting procedures. Responsible for conducting various Depot/Department audits ensuring alignment to Easigas policies, procedures and processes.
Job description
- Ensure that the Trial Balance is accurate and complete
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures
- Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
- Ensure compliance with statutory, local and corporate policies, regulations and laws
- Determine proper handling of financial transactions, and approving transactions within designated limits
- Prepare documents and supporting schedules for the annual financial review
- Develop and implemente various accounting procedures
- Ensure that monthly VAT returns are submitted on time
- Prepare annual tax return documentation and ensure that it is submitted on time
- Prepare pricing master tax file in accordance with tax law requirements and making it available for inspection
- Ensure that invoices are captured timeously and that account disputes are reduced
- Perform creditor’s reconciliations on all monthly creditors
- Review accounts payables as well as running weekly and/or monthly payment runs
Requirements, Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Finance Degree
- Computer Literate
- Supervisory / Management experience
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
