Honourable Mr. Thomas Kagiso Mmusi, Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, hosted a delegation from the Botswana – France National Parliamentary Friendship Group on a Courtesy Call. The delegation was led by the President of the Group Honourable Philippe Michel-Kleisbaeur.

During the Courtesy Call, Honourable Mmusi expressed gratitude for the goodwill visit and noted with appreciation the existing cordial relations between Botswana and France which the Defence and Security Sector have benefited from.

On his part, the President of the Group Honourable Philippe Michel-Kleisbaeur appreciated the Minister`s warm welcome and paid homage to the two (2) Botswana Defence Force members who lost their lives in a peace keeping mission in the Republic of Mozambique, to combat the threat of terrorism and acts of violent extremism in the Cabo Delgado Province as an element of the SADC Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM).

He also noted that the Group is looking forward to the possible areas of enhanced cooperation between Botswana and France in the Defence and Security sectors.

The delegation was accompanied Her Excellency Ms. Laurence Beau, Ambassador of France to Botswana and Mr. Mustaq Moorad, Ambassador of Botswana to France.
