BDF SERVICE MEMBER COMMITS SUICIDE AT PEMBA IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOZAMBIQUE

The Botswana Defence Force wishes to inform members of the public about the unfortunate incident in which a member of the Botswana Defence Force Contingent deployed in the Cabo Delgado Province of the Republic of Mozambique committed suicide this morning at around 1120hrs.

Investigations to establish circumstances surrounding the incident are on-going. While the BDF conveys its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the people of the Republic of Botswana, it withholds the names of the deceased to allow the family the space to privately mourn during this difficult time.

May the soul of the deceased member rest in eternal peace.
