BOTSWANA SHARES ITS WOMEN EMPOWERMENT EFFORTS WITH ESTONIA

The ongoing state visit by the First lady of the Republic of Estonia in Botswana today included an exhibition of Botswana youth producers and fashion designers themed “Moreki, Morekisi Itsaneng” hosted by the First Lady of Botswana, H.E Mrs Neo Jane Masisi.

Her excellency the first lady of Botswana highlighted the importance of women’s welfare saying it affords them financial stability through income generating businesses. She recognized the presence of the legislation of women in councils at the event and pleaded with them to replicate such events in their regions as this will encourage local creatives.

In her address Her excellency Mrs Karis explained that like Botswana, in 2015 Estonia also adopted the welfare delivery plan emphasizing the relevance of mental health as this is a solution to all the modern challenges. Her excellency expressed that Education is a treasure to humanity especially to girls and in view of this Estonia has esteemed digital and business skills training in efforts of human empowerment.

Local businesses that showcased at the event were youth and women owned entities and are all Direct beneficiaries of Local Enterprise Authority (LEA).
