The President to attend the 5TH session of the Bostwana-South Africa BI-National Commission

The Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation wishes to inform that His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana, will attend the 5th Session of the Botswana-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC), on 22nd April 2022, in Pretoria, South Africa.

The 5th Session of the Botswana-South Africa BNC will afford the two countries the opportunity to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest; review progress on the implementation of cooperation commitments; as well as, explore other potential areas for cooperation. Botswana and South Africa share close bilateral ties that are founded on deep historical, cultural, linguistic and family ties, including shared values and principles. The two countries enjoy excellent cooperation in a number of areas, such as, trade and investment; defence and security; agriculture; transport; telecommunications and tourism.

The Heads of State Session, will be preceded by the Senior Officials and the Ministerial Sessions, which will take place between 19th and 21st April 2022.

His Excellency the President’s delegation will include Honourable Dr. Lemogang Kwape, Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation; Honourable Mr. Kabo Morwaeng, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration; Honourable Mr. Kagiso Mmusi, Minister of Defence, Justice and Security; Honourable Mr.

Kefentse Mzwinila, Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services; Honourable Ms. Anna Mokgethi, Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs; Honourable Lefoko Moagi, Minister of Mineral Resources, Green technology and Energy Security; Honourable Mmusi Kgafela, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry; Honourable Thulagano Segokgo, Minister of Transport and Communications; Honourable Ms. Phildah Kereng, Minister of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism and Senior Government Officials.
