Nails are a crown of beauty and many ladies love their nails. They make our hands look elegant and feminine and we would like them to be strong and pretty. However, a lot of girls out there have problems with their nails. 1. Keep Your Nails Clean.
Take time to wash in and around your nails. Soak your fingers in warm soapy water and use a soft brush to clean them. This will prevent infections due to germs and dirt accumulations. Always keep your fingernails dry. When your fingernails are wet it allows the formation of bacteria and fungi under your fingernails. Whenever you you’re your hands use a good quality cotton towel to pat dry your hands.
3. Moisturize Your Fingers.
Keep your finger well moisturized to avoid dryness. When using a hand lotion or moisturizer, you must apply it both on the nails as well as the cuticles. Olive oil is a great moisturizer for healthy nails and before going to bed you can use this oil to keep your nails well moisturized.
4. Massage Your Fingers.
Take out time and massage your hands properly. A hand massage stimulates blood circulation and helps in the growth of nails making them healthy and strong. You must go for a hand massage with olive oil once in a week.
5. Wear Rubber Gloves.
Don’t do the dishes or clean your home without wearing rubber gloves. The chemicals you use for cleaning are very strong and can really damage your hands and your nails. Not only that they will make your nails weaker, they could also give you nasty burns. Always wear rubber gloves when cleaning.
You really have no reason to have super long nails. Not only that it’s unpractical, but it makes you look a bit trashy. Keep your nails at length that doesn’t come in a way of your every day chores and clip them regularly. Nails that are too long are also much more prone to breaking.
7. Go Easy On Nail Polish
Although colorful nails are quite cool, nail polish actually does a lot of damage to your nails. The reason is that nail polishes contain acetone, which makes your nails soft. Don’t manicure your nails more often than once a week and buy only high quality nail polishes. If your nail polish has passed its expiration date, throw it right away.
8. Don’t Bite Your Fingernails.
These habits can damage the nail bed. Even a minor cut alongside your fingernail can allow bacteria or fungi to enter and cause an infection.
9. Avoid Harsh Nail Care Products.
Limit your use of nail polish remover. When using nail polish remover, opt for an acetone-free formula.
10. Ask Your Doctor About Biotin.
Some research suggests that the nutritional supplement biotin might help strengthen weak or brittle fingernails.
