President of the Republic of Botswana, will participate at the Botswana National Day activities to be organised during the Expo 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 12th to 14th March 2022.

Botswana is among the countries participating at the six (6) months long exposition, which commenced in October 2021 and will conclude in March 2022. The Botswana National Day will be held on 13th March 2022 and will feature various aspects of the Botswana Story, including promoting the country as a prime tourist and investment destination. At the National Day official ceremony, His Excellency the President, will give a keynote address, which will among others, advance the country’s economic interests through a call for smart partnerships and investment promotion in key sectors such as mining, innovation and agriculture.

While in Dubai, the President will also have a number of strategic engagements including meeting with business leaders and prospective investors in the mining sector. Additionally, the President, will participate at the Expo 2020 Botswana Investment Conference, which will be held under the theme β€œSustained Growth through Inclusive and Innovative Investments”. During the conference, the President will share his vision for transitioning Botswana into a high-income economy and present the country’s Reset Agenda.

His Excellency the President will be accompanied by Honourable Dr. Lemogang Kwape, Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation; Honourable Mr. Lefoko Moagi, Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security; Honourable Mr. Mmusi Kgafela, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry; Honourable Mr. Tumiso Rakgare, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development; Honourable Ms. Peggy Serame, Minister of Finance and Economic Development; Honourable Mr. Karabo Gare, Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security; Senior Government Officials and Business Executives.
