GOVERNMENT INCREASES MINIMUM WAGE

The Vice President, His Honour Mr Slumber Tsogwane when addressing Kgotla meetings in Khumaga and Moreomaoto, said that Government has approved the increment of the minimum wage rates effective March this year.

He explained that the minimum rates have been increased by 23.5% for sectors on hourly rate remuneration, while the domestic and agricultural sectors will be increased to P1500 per month.

Vice President Tsogwane urged employers to adhere to the new stipulated rates because failing to do so will be a violation of section 138 of the employment Act.
