TEMPORARY CASH AND BANK CLERK

ROLE SUMMARY
Ensures the completeness and correct allocation of cash received from hospital private debtors and banks cash on daily basis.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities
Reconciles cash, cheques and debit/credit card receipts from all hospital private debtors on a daily basis and verifies their accuracy to debtors’ statements
Receiving Payments from Hospital Debtors (Patients on short paid bill and adjusting paid amounts to respective bills)
Banks cash and cheques received on each shift on a daily basis
Reconciles all amounts banked to the Memo Bank and Current Account and passes accounting journals from these accounts to the Current account on a daily basis
Investigates questionable cash transactions and escalates incidents of a serious nature for corrective action by management
Counts cash from the safe and banks it

INHERENT REQUIREMENTS
A Minimum of AAT or Diploma in Accounting Required

1 year relevant experience required

Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must

Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset

Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
