EXECUTIVE SECRETARY D4 X3

Qualifications National Diploma / Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies or related field

Experience

At least six (6) years’ relevant experience, two (2) of which should have been served as Senior Personal Secretary C1 salary scale

Salary scale D4 (P232,140 – P255,876)

Leave 30 working days per annum

Job purpose

To provide secretarial and administrative services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

a. Maintain the supervisor’s diary, schedule appointments and meetings.

b. Maintain confidential files, correspondences and other related materials.

c. Research, collate and summarize information as needed by the supervisor.

d. Handle and transmit telephone calls for the supervisor.

e. Undertake any other duties as directed by management.

2. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER E2 – CONTRACT, TENABLE AT DCSC

Qualifications

A Master Degree of Military Art or Master of Military Strategic Studies, Master of Education Philosophy/Educational Psychology/Training and Curriculum Development or any equivalent and related field will be an added advantage.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of Curriculum Development Salary scale E2 (P407,484– P423,972) per annum Leave 30 working days per annum.Benefits

Job purpose

Manage the review and development of Curriculum at Defence Command & Staff College to ensure compliance to legislation and standards

Job Duties and Responsibilities

a. Provide advice on curriculum development to ensure compliance to policies, standards and legislation.

b. Manage the assessment and development of academic programs to ensure achievement of learning goals and objectives.

c. Participate in professional development growth activities for the purposes of maintaining professional knowledge and staying current with curricular trends.

d. Liaise with relevant professional associations as well as government regulatory and accreditation agencies to ensure compliance to legislation and standards.

e. Establish strategic partnerships with stakeholders in the curriculum environment to ensure consistency in the Professional Military Education (PME).

f. Conduct training needs analysis to identify new training & development requirements and recommend training and learning methods accordingly.

g. Implement Performance Management System to ensure achievement of the BDF vision.

h. Liaise with Botswana Qualifications Authority for accreditation of Assessors & Moderators including other Botswana Defence Force Training Institutions.

3. QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER D1- TENABLE AT DCSC

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Education Philosophy/ Educational Psychology/Training and Curriculum Development or any equivalent and related field.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of Quality Assurance

Salary scale D1 (P350,904– P386,976) per annum

Leave 30 working days per annum.

Job purpose

Manage the accreditation of BDF training Institutions and learning pragrammes as well as quality assure training centers and delivery of programs

Job Duties and Responsibilities

a. Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of product to confirm quality and conformance to specifications and deliverables.

b. Assist operations in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels, environmental and health and safety goals.

c. Analyse and investigate leaners complaints or reported quality issues to ensure resolution in accordance with College guidelines and external regulatory requirements.

d. Develop or update College procedures to ensure capture, investigation, and proper documentation of complaints.

e. Monitor risk-management procedures and maintain problem logs for identifying and reporting issues to management and leaners development.

f. Provide training and support to quality assurance team that includes systems, policies, procedures and core processes.

g. Coordinate accreditation of assessors and moderators with Botswana Qualification Authority (BQA) including other Botswana Defence Force Training Institutions to ensure compliance to legislation and standards.

4. SENIOR COURT REPORTER C2 X1 TENABLE IN SSKB

Qualifications Diploma in Court Reporting or Secretarial Studies. Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies will be an added advantage Experience at least 2 years’ service as Court Reporter C3 salary scale

Salary scale C2(P 141, 792– P 168,576) per annum

Leave 25 working days per annum.

Job purpose

Provide Court Reporting services to ensure smooth and efficient court operations in the BDF.

Duties and Responsibilities

a. Plan the scheduling of Court Reporters to ensure sufficient coverage for all required court room proceedings.

b. Create verbatim transcripts of court proceedings for future reference.

c. Monitor the preparation of transcripts prepared by Court Reporters to ensure accuracy and compliance with rules and regulations.

d. Oversee the maintenance and storage of Court Reporter records to ascertain security and confidentiality.

e. Develop and maintain operational guidelines to ensure operational efficiency of the Court Martial.

f. Compile documents and materials required by the Judicial Officer in the Court for meetings and appointments.

g. Research cases cited in the court sessions to ensure accurate citations and quotations in preparation for judgments.

Qualifications Diploma/Degree in Translation/Court Interpreting or related field. Proficiency in one or more indigenous languages will be an added advantage

Experience

2 years’ experience as Bench Clerk on C3 salary scale.

Salary scale C2 (P141,792 – P168,576)

Job purpose:

To provide interpretation services for the Court Martial.

Job Duties and Responsibility

a. Sensitises the public on Court etiquette and procedure before Court resumes.

b. Provide advice to customers in relation to their complaints and enquiries.

c. Provide interpretation services in Court in various disciplines i.e. legal, medical, engineering, and economics in both criminal and civil cases.

d. Liaise with customers pertaining to case logistics.

e. Prepare returns and statistics adjudicated cases.

f. Update the Court Records Management Systemg. Announce cases before Court and administers oath to the witnesses.

h. Manage the Court by facilitating overall court activities

i. Dispatches judgments to parties to the case and stakeholders.

j. Prepare daily court sheet for presiding officer

k. Research on legal language and issues relating to Court Interpretation.
